us with info on The Militia Group's two new signings [from TheMilitiaGroup.com]:
We would like to welcome THE ROCKET SUMMER to the Militia roster. The Rocket Summer is the solo work of 19 year old Texas native, multi-instrumentalist, Bryce Avary. Developing a huge local following all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Bryce has played shows and festivals such as SXSW (with a full band and by himself), and garnered large amounts of radio play on local rock station, The Edge, as well as college radio all over Texas. When Bryce was 17, he recorded and self released his first EP, self-titled "The Rocket Summer". The EP to date has sold in almost every state in the US as well as 5 of the 7 continents by mail order alone. This past summer, he entered the studio with Ed Rose for six and a half weeks to record his debut full-length album,"Calendar Days", slated for a February release. "Calendar Days" showcases Bryce's talent being that it was produced by Bryce himself, and that all of the instruments on the record were played by Bryce as well. Though courted by countless major labels and managers up to this point, Bryce has opted for the 'road less traveled.' Fans of Ben Folds Five, Phantom Planet, and Vanessa Carlton take note! Copeland is a 4 piece rock band emerging from Central Florida's fertile music scene in the spring of 2001 as the follow-up to each of the members' marginally successful previous projects. Glorious rock anthems, accented with ambient guitar leads, contain masterfully executed tenor harmonies, well developed melodies, and lyrics ranging from romantic to spiritual. They have a delightful EP out on Theory 8 records and have begun work on their full-length, entitled BENEATH MEDICINE TREE, w/ Matt Goldman in his Glow in the Dark Studio. Check out some demo's @ http://www.mp3.com/copeland and their official website.
