Washington post-hardcore act Harkonen will be reforming to perform three reunion shows this June, in Boston, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. The band's guitarist/vocalist Ben Verellen said of the shows:
The last time Harkonen was on the east coast, I think Matt had a broken wrist, so Casey and I toured out with a CD of matt playing drums through a bunch of amps. Last time Harkonen tried to fly anywhere to do a show, the plane had a malfunction and almost went down. It's been about 10 years since all that and I'm hoping the curse has lifted.
The band will also be releasing a new vinyl repress of their album Shake Harder Boy for the shows.
Harkonen formed in 1997, and released two full-length albums and several EPs and splits before calling it quits in 2005. Members went on to such bands as Roy, Helms Alee, Grip, and Himsa.
