Rock Candy Omaha posted a review of Desaparecidos' secret show last night at the Slowdown in Omaha, NE. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the band debuted new material which suggests that some new release is on the horizon.
The short-lived band was formed by Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst but aimed for a Midwestern punk sound informed more by Hüsker Dü and early American garage punk bands. They announced a proper reunion show for at MaHa Music Festival on August 11, 2012 in Omaha and previously reunited for the 2010 Concert for Equality.
Their sole release was 2002's Read Music / Speak Spanish.
