Happy Thursday, everyone. Thanks to John G. for filling in yesterday while I hung out in the BIG CITY.
First, Rich Cocksedge has a lot of nice things to say about Jaded Eyes' new record for Boss Tuneage, Gods and Monsters :
Jaded Eyes remember when emotional music - for which Dischord is often credited with being a big part of back in the day - was known as "emo," and bands were really giving their all to convey feelings and connect with the audience, as opposed to coming across as whiny and basically unlistenable.
Second, Renaldo Matadeen tackles the new LP from Derby, UK buzz band Crash of Rhinos, Knots :
Influences of emo and post-hardcore are what Crash of Rhinos embed into the spine of Knots, with nods from bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Small Brown Bike.
