Anyone else still sweaty from last night's Breaking Bad premiere?

To start off our week of reviews, Rich Cocksedge dissects the roots/rock/reggae of Cardiff, Wales' Dirty Revolution, The Heat:

Musically The Heat is a fairly laid-back affair, with a subtle blend of rock, reggae and ska combining to provide a particularly uplifting, yet relaxing suite of songs. Without a shadow of a doubt, it's Elle's voice that leads the way, but the other four members of the band provide a highly enjoyable musical background that's restrained even in the higher tempo moments.

Then, Renaldo Matadeen thinks the new Dads EP is more than Pretty Good:

"My Crass Patch" lulls with haunting drums and guitars until about about 1:20, with the vocals proving to be such a sweet complementary device. When the track explodes at around the 3:00 mark, the drums are purely mindblowing. The melodic chaos is remarkable. In an immediate contrast, "Can I Be Yr Deadbeat Boyfriend" is glossed with a more upbeat and pop-punkish rhythm, and it's a marvel how this two-man army pulls this off with such ease.
