â â â aka Crosses, the trio of Chino Moreno, Shaun Lopez and Chuck Doom, have released their second single. In a nod to Miles Davis, the track is titled "Biâ ches Brew." You can check it out here.
The album is due out February 11, 2014, via Sumerian Records.
What's interesting about the title Bitches Brew is that it doesn't imply the meaning most people associate with it. Most people tend to comprehend the title as meaning a brew of a bitch. But, that would be written as "Bitch's Brew." Likewise, if it was the brew of plural bitches, it would be "Bitches' Brew." Rather, because there is no apostrophe in the word "bitches," the only grammatically correct way to interpret the title would be with "Bitches" as a plural noun (as opposed to a singular adjective) and brew as a simple present verb. That is, "Bitches Brew" means that a thing that bitches do, is brew.
We hope you found this to be helpful. In the meantime, here is a neat letter about the naming of the Miles Davis album.
