Straight from Polyvinyl HQ:
The label will be re-issuing Braid's seminal "Frame and Canvas" album. Didn't know it needed re-issuing? Read PV's statement to understand: "In 1998 when Polyvinyl was distributed by Southern, we signed what is called a "P & D" deal for Braid's "Frame and Canvas." "P&D," short for "Pressing & Distribution" basically means they pressed the records and then distributed them exclusively for a set number of years. This contract recently ended meaning that we got the record back from Southern. We've now re-packaged it with cleaner liner notes and a slip-case and UPC code to boot. The album still remains as good now as it did back then."Mates Of State's split 7" with friends Dear Nora came out today, and the theme of the record is cover songs. MOS cover Nico's "These Days," while Dear Nora covers "Girl From the North Country" by Bob Dylan. Essential if you own a record player. Also coming out today is The Red Hot Valentines' debut Polyvinyl EP called "Calling Off Today." Their full length is due out on the label in May. The label also has numerous sales going on. Check out the following:
"A manufacturing error occurred that left us with roughly five hundred "Direction" LPs, but no covers. So one night, boredom sat in and we set to making "handmade" / hand-numbered jackets. This classic comp features 15 tracks, including: Rainer Maria, Corm, Braid, Back of Dave, Rail, Gainer, Ezra Pound, Walker, Gila Bend, Gus, Mary Me, Walker, Clairmel, Tomorrow, and Hubcap. Make your record collection the proud parent of a "Direction" LP today for the modest sum of $2.""For only $12 you can get the new Red Hot Valentines EP plus your choice of TWO other EPs! The many EPs you can choose from include American Football, AM/FM, Rainer Maria, Paris_Texas, Aloha, Rainer Maria and more! And, as always, all orders will also recieve the new PV sampler CD.
