As you may recall, last year, Brooklyn's Unlocking the Truth made headlines for several reasons. First, they were a metal band of eighth graders. Second, they signed a deal with Sony for with a potential payout of $1.7 million. Well, it seems it was all too good to be true.
The band now wants to sever ties with the label. On March 14, at a premiere of Breaking a Monster, the documentary about the band, singer Malcolm Brickhouse stated, "Our attorneys are working on our exit from Sony now." He declined to give any other details about the band's relationship with the label. The band's manager, Alan Sacks, confirmed the statement.
