At a 924 Gilman Street benefit show at The Fox Theater Mayor Libby Schaaf officially proclaimed that February 19th will be known as "Green Day Day" in Oakland, California. The show itself was put on through 924 Gilman's Indie Go Go campaign that recently reached it's goal of raising $30,000 to "help secure the future of the longest running, DIY, all ages, volunteer run underground music venue." At the show, local bands performed one song each off of Green Day's album Dookie.
