Today, Punknews is pleased to debut the new single by Nonpareil.
"Blood Cockles and Gutter Oil" is as nasty as the title implies. Harnessing a discordant rhythm, the band makes no bones about their disgust for humanity's bullshit. Frontman Connor Woods spoke to Punknews:
"Frustration with pan-cultural xenophobia inspired these lyrics. Ethnocentrism breeds hatred. Being a foreigner in a country that is inhospitable at best to foreigners highlights and contextualizes this distinct type of hatred. As a result, self loathing dominates one's psyche and reinforces an adversarial relationship between others and familiarity."
