As pointed out by the AV Club, this year is ragnarok for FM radio in Norway. The country has been planning the end of the system for a number of years and the disbandment begins its roll out now. Norway is the first country that had a large scale FM system to terminate the service. The FM radio system will be replaced with a Digital Broadcasting Service. Interestingly, two-thirds of the country's population disapproves of the changeover. It is possible that this switch may prompt other countries to follow suit.
