us that on Sunday June the 22nd the second annual Merritthon Leukemia Benefit Concert is taking plave. The event will be held at Churchill High School in Potomac Maryland, a suburb right outside of Northwest DC. The Merritthon is named after Merritt Navazio, a sax player for local ska and jazz bands who was diagnosed with Leukemia in the Summer of 2001. Since then he has received chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant. As of March of 2003, Merrit has been one year free of Leukemia. The event is an all day outdoor concert with 14 local ska and punk bands with Distorted Penguins and The Pietasters headlining. Click below for the lineup.
