Secret Shrine was doing the dream-pop shoegaze thing back in the early 90s and, as their 25 years of experience proves, they know what they are doing. "Dirty Game" rolls across the speakers in a melodic haze, straddling the distance between the Beatles at their most zagged out and Sonic Youth at their most harmonious. It's rare to find a song that is both huge and delicate, but as the fuzz and low rumble of "Dirty Game" makes clear, Secret Shrine are masters of the form.
