In a report by Discogs, The Netherlands has been revealed as the most record store dense country for larger countries. The country boasts an impressive 178 record shops for its 16,800,000 person population, resulting in almost one shop per every 100,000 people. The UK came in at #2 with about .84 shops per 100,000 people. By contrast, the USA came in at a disgraceful fifth place, with a measly .46 shops per 100,000. However, the USA does host the highest number of shops over all, with an impressive 537 brick and mortar locations.
As for countries overall, Palau was the surprise winner, with 3 shops for its population of 14,000 people, making it the most record store dense country. Iceland didn't do too bad either, with 8 stores for its population of 335,000. Meanwhile, Tokoyo has the most record stores per city in the world, with a mighty 93 shops slinging those round pieces of plastic. See the full report here.
