Punknews is pleased to bring you an exclusive premiere of the new video from Redditch UK quartet Swan Prince. The song, "Disguise," is the lead track off of the band's newest EP Never Look Back, which released last month as a name-your-price download on their Bandcamp page. Unlike the other three tracks on the album, this song takes a decidedly more poppy sound that belies the subject matter. As vocalist/guitarist Rachel Blewett notes below, that same tack was taken for the video itself:
"Disguise" was written about a friend turned enemy. Despite it being a serious song, the happy vibe makes you think otherwise. The DIY video features the band sailing in a swan boat and wearing disguises around a Birmingham park. We wanted the video to be lighthearted and fun, despite the song itself being about a problem. Mitchell Cashmore has only just joined the band (on bass) and it was a case of seeing what stupid stuff we could get him to do in the video. Expect more silly videos from us in future! Our next music video will be out later this year for the 3rd track on our EP "Running on Empty" and this also features Mitchell's great acting.
Swan Prince also has a series of gigs lined up throughout the year, including supporting gigs for The Murderburgers and The Bombpops. You can check out those dates, and the premiere of their new video, below.
