Today, we are THRILLED to debut the first album by Catbite!
Catbite's debut LP is short and sweet. drawing from two-tone ska, 50s rock and roll, and first wave punk, the band cherry picks the best parts of those genres and kicks out two sides of bouncy, sharp rock n roll. With her soul-meets-razorblade voice, Singer Brittany Luna is somewhere between '40s lounge singer and Pauline Black. Meanwhile while guitarist Tim Hildbrand pays tribute to the genius simplicity of his inspirations with guitar lines that are as catchy as almost any checkerboard single. This is how you make a great ska (influenced) record in 2019, people.
Speaking to Punknews about the track, Hildbrand said, “We just celebrated our one year anniversary as a band and are beyond excited to release our song babies out to the world! We’re extremely proud of how it came out. It’s a true representation of what we are as a band and how we want to sound. We pulled from all four of our resources, musical and others, and we think it sounds damn good. Hope y’all enjoy, and if so, spread the word!”
