When we recorded “The Killing Fields,” we believed that it would appear on our second LP. When we sequenced the record at Creep Studios in the Fall of 2007 in Pennsylvania, we realized it didn’t fit into what was naturally becoming, The Chronicle. Dark, melodic, and riddled with many parts,“The Killing Fields” embodies the character traits of the songs that were written between our first record Hope and Rage and The Chronicle. This is one of those songs that bridges the creative gap. It is also one of our 1st songs; if not the 1st song to tackle one of our favorite subjects: the interpretation of memory and memory recall. -John Marullo (Guitarist)
