The Album Leaf, brainchild of Tristeza's Jimmy LaValle, has announced their signing to Sub Pop Records. LaValle will be heading to Iceland later this month to finish mixing their new record in Sigur Ros' countryside studio. Sub Pop has set a release date of June 8th for the disc.

LaValle is also still in the midst of his collaborative series of 7"s on Better Looking Records. Already out are the volumes with Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes and Marc Bianci of Her Space Holiday, up next are collaborations with Karla Schikle of Ida / K, Pall Jenkins from The Blackheart Procession / Three Mile Pilot, and Jon Thor Birgisson of Sigur Ros.
