The Libertines and Buzzcocks will play the Love Music Hate Racism show at London Astoria on March 16th 2004. Other bands on the bill include The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and Miss Black America and The Others. The show is organized by the UK's Anti Nazi League, an organization that aims to "use the positive energy of the music scene to fight back against the racism being pushed by Nazi organisations such as the British National Party, National Front and Combat 18." For more information on the show and the cause head over to lmhr.org.uk.
You may recall from your punk history books that The Clash, along with X-Ray Spex, Steel Pulse and the Tom Robinson Band played a rally of nearly 100,000 people at a Rock Against Racism event in April 1978 in Victoria Park, Hackney.
