CNN is reporting that former Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan is recovering from facial injuries he suffered when he was allegedly attacked at central London's Joiner's Arms pub. Newspaper The Evening Standard reported that the singer suffered a fractured cheekbone after being "kicked, punched and hit with a metal bar." The motives for the attack are currently unknown. Two people were arrested at the scene and were later released on bail. MacGowan was taken to St Thomas' Hospital, but did not stay for treatment.
