The Hives are headed back to North America this summer for a thirteen-day tour. The jaunt kicks off on July 20th in Washington DC, the same day the band plans to release the followup to their 2000's Veni Vidi Vicious. Sahara Hotnights will be supporting.

Frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist spoke with Rolling Stone about the yet-untitled record, "It's a little bit different… But the theme of the record is that we have more restraint in the rhythm section -- sort of minimalist, functionalist. There's a Hives aesthetic that we try to impose on everything, but it's still hard and fast compared to most bands."
