Pitchfork Media is reporting that Engine Down has signed with Lookout Records. The band will reportedly release a self-titled record produced by Brian McTernan (Thrice, Cave In, Hot Water Music) on August 24th. It will include videos, an in-studio film and live performances among it's enhanced features.

Engine Down's Jonathan Fuller spoke with the website about their departure from Lovitt Records: "We've had a great run at Lovitt, three records, we love [them] to death and know [they] would bend over backwards for us. We left for one main reason-- distribution. We have toured our asses off over the past two or three years, and plan on continuing. We need for our records to be available in stores, otherwise, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot."

The band is currently on tour with Sparta.
