This Thursday Mike Watt will be formally debuting his long-awaited new album The Secondmen's Middle Stand live on the air on California radio station KXLU at midnight PST (3AM EST). The broadcast, part of the Livation radio show, will also be streamed live on KXLU's website. The performance will also be drummer Jerry Trebotic's last (at least for the time being) with Watt & The Secondmen.
For the forthcoming "El Mar Cura Todo" (The Sea Cures Everything) tour, Watt will enlist "fellow Pedroid" Raul Morales to take Trebotic's place. The tour starts on September 17th in San Francisco and will conclude November 20th in Tempe, AZ, with all shows featuring a performance of The Secondmen's Middle Stand in it's entirety. The record was recorded earlier this year with the original Secondmen lineup of Watt (bass, vocals), Pete Mazich (organ, vocals), and Trebotic, plus ex-That Dog member Petra Haden contributing backing vocals. It will be released by Red Ink/Columbia on August 24th.
