After releasing two records on Goleta, CA's Ebullition Records, Vancouver's Submission Hold will release their new album What Holds Back the Elephant on G7 Welcoming Committee Records this October. Here's some fun language from the press release:

Submission Hold is now in its second decade of creating and disseminating provocative sounds and challenging dialogue. Fusing experimental punk sounds with free-improv, eastern folk, chamber music and radically political lyrics, Submission Hold has created a style all their own. Dubbed "post-genre" by Pop Matters magazine, Submission Hold has often been held in the same regard as bands like Fugazi, Sonic Youth and legendary Dutch noise-makers The Ex.

Other acts on the ever expanding G7 roster also are preparing upcoming releases. Quebecois hardcore / metal act GFK's debut album for G7 is done and will arrive on September 28th. You can find the track listing and cover art for If Liberty Isn't Given, It Should Be Taken on the label's website.Vancouver's Che:Chapter 127 will release Martyrs For Monuments on August 17th on their own CheWorx label, distributed by the G7. You can preview the 8 track record with a few MP3s on the G7 site.
