Heading 'North to the Future' with Joram Zbichorski of Rust Ring

Chicago-based emo punks Rust Ring are just days away from releasing their superb second album North to the Future. Named after the state motto of Alaska, the album chronicles a fictional trip up north and explores identity, sexuality, and gender, as well as highlighting the importance of working through self-doubt with image-laden lyrics full of heart and humour. Rust Ring will be hitting the road for a handful of Midwest shows on February 23 and North to the Future will be out everywhere on February 24 via Knifepunch Records.

Lisa Brownlee and Talli Osborne on the Punk Rock Museum

On March 10th, 2023, The Punk Rock Museum is set to open their doors with the aim to establish themselves as one of the premiere punk rock destinations on this earth. The collective have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to curate and dream up a large 12,000 square feet space between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown to invite all to be immersed in half a century worth of punk rock (with space to grow). Contributing Editor Samantha Barrett sat with collective members Lisa Brownlee and Talli Osborne about the how the museum came about and about the future it.

'Making Circles of Our Own' with Lyndsey McDougall of New Pagans

Irish indie-punks New Pagans are getting ready to release their excellent second album Making Circles of Our Own next week. The album sees the band exploring the music industry’s obsession with youth, the lives and works of artists throughout history, and the importance of hope with stellar musicianship and deep lyrics that are filled with imagery. Making Circles of Our Own will be out everywhere on February 17 via Big Scary Monsters and New Pagans will be touring the UK in March.

Christophe Brochu talks all things Punk Rock Radio.ca

Quebec-based online radio station Punk Rock Radio.ca kicks ass. They started in 2017 with an idea carried by pure DIY spirit and have only gotten stronger since then. Along with playing a rotating mix of new and old punk music 24/7 on their website, they also broadcast original shows and podcasts throughout the week including the Punk Rock Show du Matin hosted by co-owner Pierre-Luc Thiffault​, the Big Bro Show hosted by station founder and co-owner Christophe Brochu, Sewer Spewer hosted by Chris Aitkens of Gutser, and Le P'tit Moment Trash hosted by Claudia Bo. They truly have something for everyone no matter what kind of punk you like to listen to and they strive to uplift their local scene as much as they possibly can.

Today, we are thrilled to debut the trailer for Wrong Reasons!

Wrong Reasons was written and directed by Josh Roush of the very cool band Bi-Product (and he also happens to be one of the key dudes that works on Kevin Smith movies!) Roush's new film stars Liv (also of Bi-Product) as Kat Oden, a drug addled punk/hardcore vocalist, who gets kidnapped and held hostage by a psycho who has unclear motives. Does he love Kat? Does he hate her? for the film, Roush took his punk background and incorporated into the film stylistically and philosophically. We've seen an early cut of the movie and it is pretty rad.

Plus, if you watch carefully a few punkers and cool artists pop up in supporting roles. Watch closely for the likes of Donita Sparks of L7, Kym Wilson, and even Smith himself. Also, the soundtrack rocks: Tim Armstrong, Black Flag, L7, the Wipers, CH3, the Unseen, and more.
