The Ape-Ettes to release new EP, share “Backseat” video

Sudbury-based garage rock trio The Ape-Ettes have announced that they will be releasing a new EP. It is called No Matter What and will be out on December 10 via Discos de Muerte and Snappy Little Numbers. The band has also released a video for their new song “Backseat” which was written and directed by Jeff Houle, shot and edited by Dunstan Top, and features intro music by Mitch Houle. The Ape-Ettes released their EP Simply in 2023. Check out the video and tracklist below.

Whispers: “Wisenheimer (You Were Never One Of Us)” (ft. Shaun Alexander of Demonstration of Power)

Thai hardcore punk band Whispers have released a new song called “Wisenheimer (You Were Never One Of Us)” which features Shaun Alexander of Demonstration of Power. The song is off their upcoming EP Yom-Ma-Lok which will be out on December 13 via Flatspot Records. Whispers released their split with Gates of Hopeless, A Split Document, in 2023 and released their EP Narok Bon Din in 2021. Check out the song below.

Dead Boys and Cheetah Chrome respond to Jake Hout's departure and A.I. claims

Yesterday, Dead Boys singer Jake Hout announced his departure from the band and stated that Cleopatra Records/Dead Boys were using A.I. to make a "new" Dead Boys album. Following that, Dead Boys and Cleopatra announced a Dead Boys collaborative album with Glen Matlock and Clem Burke.

Pinkshift release video for “ONE NATION”

Pinkshift have released a video for their song “ONE NATION”. The video was directed by Nathan Smith and Mark Jeevaratnam. The song is a standalone single and was released last month via Hopeless Records. Pinkshift will be supporting Origami Angel on their December 15 show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC and will be supporting The Linda Lindas on their spring tour of North America. Dead Boys to release collaborative album with Clem Burke, Glen Matlock, James Williamson

A few minutes ago, Dead Boys announced the release of a new album. The new record finds guitarist Cheetah Chrome working with a bunch of notable musicians: Cheetah on is back guitar and handling vocals, Clem Burke of Blondie is on drums, Glen Matlock of Sex Pistolsis on bass. The release also features contributions from along from James Williamson of The Stooges and Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks.

Stiv Bators himself also makes an appearance of sorts- unreleased vocal demos from 1977 and 1978 were used to add some Stiv to the release. As per the band, Cheetah Chrome’s vocals are artfully “dusted” with Stiv’s iconic presence. No title has been released but the release will be out via Cleopatra in 2025. The band also added that they are looking for a new vocalist.
