Paramedic! and Spraynard team up for this split 7" released last year. Even now it's worth a mention.
Paramedic! play fast, fuzzy, ramshackle pop-punk, but sounding a bit emotionally worn down in the process ("And I surrender" goes one lyric). The vocals are a bit Plan-It-X-esque while the band run through the relatively rambunctious "Hellz Yea" and "Yokozuna Daydreamer". The former even slips in a reference to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". Not great, but not bad.
Much has been made about Spraynard being the second coming of Latterman, but on this 7", they feel more like their own band. At least a little bit. The trio packs "Do You Guys Even Like U2?" with a ton of dynamism and unpredictable turns for only being a minute and change long (with a few intricate percussive fills to boot), while "Airport and Prank Phone Calls" is a little more straightforward while the band retain that loosely anthemic quality.
A promising set of songs from both bands, but something tells me they could surpass this quality easy (maybe Spraynard already have with their upcoming full-length, Funtitled?).
