Gone By Friday are infectious. Focusing more on the punk than the pop, the band has carefully crafted their intricate sound that is both refreshing and fitting for their genre. Quarter-Life Crisis is a seven-song testimony heavily driven by fast guitars and catchy hooks that’ll have listeners tapping their feet and eventually singing along.

Almost every song is hard hitting, bouncing back and forth between melody and speed while still maintaining a carefully balanced dynamic. “The Hadean” is a great solid opener, but doesn’t quite showcase the EP’s potential. It’s urgent that you keep listening, the rest of Quarter-Life Crisis has a lot more to offer.

Songs like “Say My Name” are super catchy and have the proper groove that’ll easily grab any listener’s attention. The song’s varying melodies and complex song structure are extremely impressive and I defy you not to tap along.

The band's influences are pretty easy to pinpoint, but it doesn’t stop them from creating truly unique songs. The band adds complexity to the three-chord punk game and brings life and energy to songs channeled through their influences.
