Sum 41's first album, Half Hour of Power, is one of the best cd's I've heard in many years. It's a must have for any fan of Blink 182, NOFX, MXPX, and all other pop punk bands. It was easy to be pumped up for their new release, All Killer No Filler. With Fat Lip getting the buzz going around on MTV, Much Music and local radio stations Sum 41 has made their fan base even bigger than Ajax Canada where Deryck, Dave, Cone and Steve are from. Songs like Never Wake Up and Crazy Amanda show their punk roots while Fat Lip and In Too Deep give them a more hip hop sound. Then of course their is the B-side to Fat Lip, Pain for Pleasure, where they give respect to 80's cheese/hair metal. But the best songs on the album are Sum's fast and hard pop punk songs like Motivation, Heart Attack, and All She's Got. Weak points on the album are songs like Handle This and In Too Deep, although great songs not Sum's best work and shows their ability to get the teeny boppers screaming. But all the better for punk fans that they will be played on the radio TV and parties all over the country... now we don't have to listen to any more girly boys singing exactly what their record company tells them to do. Their retro video game site uses an asteroid theme and is a very good source for Sum 41 info. go visit it at Sum41.com. Everyone and their Sea monkeys should go out and buy this album but not before you pick up the original, Half Hour Of Power.
