As You Wish

So East Of Everything (2003)

self-released

Buttercup: Farm boy, fetch my CD player, I want to listen to this record that arrived by mail carrier today.

Westley: As you wish…

Buttercup: Oh my, what do I have here? This almost sounds like an Alternative Rock hit radio song. The music sounds decent, but the vocalist seems to be holding back. Bleh, screaming in the background, I've heard this before. Please skip to the next track.

Westley: As you wish…

Buttercup: Catchy guitars again, but now the singer comes off more like he's in a Pop-Punk band. I'm confused, what's after this? Ok, so we're back to the Alternative Rock technique, no trite screaming this time though, whew.

Buttercup: Musically this isn't terrible, but I think the band should settle on one genre of music instead of blending a handful that don't quite mix suitably. Vocally, everyone in the band lends their voice at some point however, none of them posses the abilities of a first-rate lead singer. I guess it's a solid effort for a self released record.

Buttercup: Farm boy, please dispose of this and polish my horse's saddle. I want to see my face shining in it by morning.

Westley: As you wish…
