Lordy. This is what free speech gets us folks, an album's worth of dick, fart, boob and gay jokes. The Bloodhound Gang have recorded the musical equivilent of the "Man Show", perfect for frat parties and gangbangs. This is what idiocy sounds like my friends, and I kind of like it.
The Bloodhound Gang are mish-mash of styles. Mainly, they play a mix of Weezeresque power-pop, Nerf Herderesque punk-pop and rap-core. Speaking of Nerf Herder, their lead singer Parry does backing vocals on the first track, " I Hope You Die ", which for me, is the highlight of this CD. I will now proceed to take you through a song by song review of this CD.
"I Hope you Die" - A punk-pop song with dual vocals by lead vocalist Jimmy Pop Ali and Parry from Nerf Herder. The best song on this CD, it starts things off pretty nicely.
"The Inevitable Return of the Great White Dope" - A decent rap-rock song, sort of Homer Simpson meets (ugh) Limp Bizkit. Pretty stoopid, but ok for a laugh I guess.
"Mama's Boy" - A recording of Jimmy calling his mother and asking her if she can think of any words that rhyme with "vagina". Its funny, the first time you hear it.
"Three Point One Four" - Weezer from Hell. About finding a "New Vagina". See a pattern here?
"Mope" - The second single from this disc, and a pretty entertaining song. It samples the Frankie Goes to Hollywood classic "Relax". It also has a pretty funny Pac-Man cameo.
"Yummy Down on This" - A fairly offensive punk-metal song, not one of my faves. Its about Jimmy's desire to get head. Manages to objectify women and gay-bash in the process. Whoo.
"The Ballad of Chasey Lain" - Pop-punk, about the porn star Chasey Lain, and Pop's desire to "eat her ass". Its catchy, kinda mysoginistic, and pretty dumb.
"RSVP" - Chasey Lain telling us what she would rather do, instead of letting Pop eat her ass.
"Magna Cum Nada" - Rap-rock. I usually skip this. Its pretty pointless.
"The Bad touch" - A great little tune, the first single off this CD. Yeah, its dirty and pretty stupid, but you can't deny that cheezy hook. Admit it, you liked this song.
"That Cough Came with a Prize" - Someone coughing. Not very entertaining.
"Take the Long Way Home" - This song features members of RBF, Less Than Jake and RX Bandits providing horns. Its a weird pop track, and about as deep lyrically as anything on here gets. Not a bad song, but not one of my faves.
"Hell Yeah" - Power-punk-pop, about what Jimmy would do if he were God. Almost intelligent, in that steakhead kind of way.
"Right Turn Clyde" - Jimmy trash talks some asshole, and sings/raps about stealing said assholes girlfriend. Features a bizzare chorus part near the end.
"This is Stupid" - yes, yes it is.
"A Lap Dance is So Much Better When the Stripper is Crying" - The worst piece of trash ever recorded. I hate this song, and anyone with half a brain should too. The only instrumentation is Pop's casio keyboard. The lyrics are about how great it is when runaway girls take to stripping to pay bills and whatnot. Awful.
"The Ten Coolest Things About New Jersey" - Really funny. I wont ruin the joke for you.
"Along Comes Mary" - Pretty good cover, I think it was on the "Half Baked" soundtrack. Good way to end the CD.
