Logic Problem

No Center [7 inch] (2009)

Grave Mistake

Logic Problem's No Center flies by in no more than 6 minutes. While it's pretty easy to brand this as another typical spate of early '80s hardcore fondling, there's something slightly extra to their sound that I really can't pin down.

Is it the weirdly trebly recording? Maybe. Is it the vocals, which never really take that directly from any one hardcore scene, whether that be its early '80s east coast musical base, late '80s youth crew or modern raspiness? Could. Is it the relentless urgency and noisy, stuffy, ever-changing tones of the guitars? It's probably a mix of all those things and then some, and it pushes the four sub-two minute cuts on No Center to just above average and worthwhile. All that is, admittedly, despite the rather one-dimensional nature of this 7".

So, yeah. If you like the stuff Grave Mistake is pumping out but wish there was a slight, vague additive to grab you a little more, this could do it.
