As We Sink!'s three-song demo is quick and dirty, and effective in the process.
The UK act play relatively fast, raspy punk with melodic hardcore and skatepunk tinges, and probably a big influence from A Wilhelm Scream's Ruiner--opener "How to Kick a Shark (In the Teeth)" sounds a bit like a less technically advantageous version of "Me vs. Morrissey in the Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)," while closer "For Those About to Crawl" reminds me of "The Kids Can Eat a Bag of Dicks."
But that's not to say the band is boringly one-dimensional--they get by with a few minor changes in vocal delivery, or maybe a different riff here and there. The recording is also great and nothing about their sound is over the top or overdone. Sure, it's really familiar, but they've got the chops to supplant that quickly.
