Still Insane: “Wires & Tubes” (Punknews Exclusive)

Punknews is excited to premiere a new track from Quebecois punk act Still Insane. The track, "Wires & Tubes, comes off of their new EP, Friends & Family- which is due out April 27th on Thousand Island Records.

The EP is the first new music from Still Insane since 2012's Never and Off.

This powerful track rocks, but also carries a lot of personal story behind it. Lead vocalist Eric Dorval explains:

Encourager: “Unswimming Lessons” (Punknews Exclusive)

Punknews is excited to premiere the first track from Seattle pop-punk/indie act Encourager. The song, "Unswimming Lessons," comes off of the band's forthcoming LP, Rager. Pre-orders for the album are up now, with a digital release date of May13th, and physical copies shipping out soon thereafter.

This is the band's first LP, and follows up their 2014 extended EP I Get A Kick Out Of Jokes. I'd best describe Encourager's sound as what would happen if Nerfherder on their best day and early-era Weezer had a baby, but with quite a few unexpected hooks all their own (I'm especially fond of the breakdown in the third act on this song).

Ted's Dead: “F-ck Trump”

Brooklyn punk trio Ted's Dead have released a stream of the new single, "Fuck Trump." The song comes off of their forthcoming debut EP Rat King, due out on May 19th.

Battery (DC hardcore) release first new song in 20 years

NPR has reported that 90's-era DC hardcore act Battery has released their first new track in 20 years. The track, "My Last Breath," was released one day prior to the Damaged City Fest, which Battery has reunited for.

Active between 1990 and 1998, and having a brief reunion in 2012, Battery has just released the compilation, For The Rejected, By The Rejected. The comp collects select tracks from their 90's catalog, and is available on Revelation Records. You can check out their new song below.

Beartrade: “Family Planning”

UK's Beartrade are now streaming the first single from their forthcoming sophomore album. The track, "Family Planning," comes off of their new LP Silent Unspeakable, which drops April 21st on digital download, with physical copies shipping at/around that date multiple labels (depending on location).

The band will also be playing dates on and around the release in support of the album, including the Manchester Punk Festival. You can check out those dates, and the new single, below.

Lost Avenue: “Stop it, Jack” (Punknews Exclusive)

Punknews is proud to debut an exclusive track from Northern Ireland-based trio Lost Avenue's forthcoming album. The song, "Stop it, Jack," comes off of the EP Best Friends, which due out Apr 15th and is available for preorder at the Rustys Rekords Bandcamp page.

Best described as post-(insert genre), there are hints of hardcore, emo, and even some math rock. This band hits a lot of styles in quick succession.

Loser Points streaming “Ones and Zeros”

Canada's Loser Points are now streaming their new EP, Ones and Zeros, in its entirety over at their Bandcamp page. This is the band's fourth release in twelve months, and is a follow-up to the Does Loser Points Come Here Often LP, which was released in October 2016.

The band is also playing two gigs over this weekend in support of the release. You can check out the full stream, and the details of those shows, below.

Take-Off stream single from forthcoming LP

Singapore-based pop-punk act Take-Off have released the first single from their forthcoming album. The track, "Damaged on the Inside," comes off of their debut LP This Won't Save The World, which is due out Apr 1st. The band's previous release was the 2015 EP This Is Punk Rock. This Is For You.

Bleeding Knees Club: “Chew the Gum”

Australia's Bleeding Knees Club have released the newest single from their forthcoming EP, due out Apr 14th on "Intertia Music. The song, "Chew the Gum," is the title track of the EP, which itself is a follow-up to the band's 2013 single Feel.

Loser Points stream single from upcoming EP

Canadian punks Loser Points are streaming their new single, "Values," off of their forthcoming EP Ones and Zeroes, due out Mar 31st. The EP is a follow-up to the LP Does Loser Points Come Here Often?, which was released Oct 2016.

The band will also be playing a few gigs around the end of the month, and you can check out those dates, as well as the single, below.

Girls In Synthesis: “The Mound”

London trio Girls in Synthesis have debuted a track from their forthcoming debut single. "The Mound" is one of two songs from The Mound/Disappear, which is due out Mar 17th via Cargo Records. Check out the tune below.
