• Fat Mike of NOFX announced he is done with Punk Voter.
• As part of our ongoing Fest coverage we hosted a live Q&A with Mr. Paul Pendley of Red City Radio.
• In a sad development in the Pussy Riot case, the 2 imprisoned members were sent to separate remote prison camps.
• Blink-182 were full of news this week as they announced they left their record label, Future Idiots "reimagined" Blink's latest release Neighborhoods, and Travis Barker collaborated with Yelawolf.
• How many of you saw Anti-Flag's special 20th anniversary set at Fest where they strictly played material from their first 4 albums?
• Someone broke into the home of the daughter of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and it wasn't this guy.
• Make room in your Lagwagon box set because lead singer, Joey Cape, revealed that the group are working on a new album.

Q: On Punknews, and many other sites, I've seen certain records recommended for fans and collectors, thus suggesting some collectors are not fans. Are there people that collect records not for the music, but just because the record itself seems interesting?

A: Yes. People do that all the time. My boyfriend bought 2 copies of the first pressing of Latterman's No Matter Where We Go..! just to be a snob. I've also seen Into It. Over It.'s Evan Weiss complain about reissues of records because it makes the original pressing less valuable. I'm not too sure how vinyl nerds brains work. There are people who need to have first pressings or every single color of certain releases. I've watched it in my boyfriend as he scoured websites and record stores for every Shook Ones release. I think it's some weird compulsive need to have a complete collection. Also, the value of one's collection is super important to collectors.

I honestly just want the prettiest color whatever record I'm ordering is available in. I'll settle for black though.

• Jawbreaker announced they will be reissuing their classic releases, Bivouac and The Chesterfield King EP, for their 20th anniversary.
• As part of our ongoing Fest coverage we hosted live Q&A's with Western Addiction's Chad Williams and Smoke or Fire's Joe McMahon.
• We also battled it out amongst each other over this year's Fest conflicts.
• Bruce Springsteen showed his support for Barack Obama.
• Jason Segel will be producing and starring in an adaptation of the documentary, The Other F Word , based off the book, Punk Rock Dad, written by Pennywise's Jim Lindberg.
• Underoath's Spencer Chamberlain discussed how "You can only play hardcore or heavy metal for so long".
• P.O.S. was forced to postpone his upcoming tour due to needing a new kidney. You can help him out by PayPal-ing money to stefneedsanewkidney@gmail.com.

A: Elton John, for sure. I know nothing about him except that he's richer than fucking god and his partner is making (made?) a movie called "Pride and Predator" which is like "Pride and Prejudice" but with alien invaders. Also he has a Donald Duck costume.

• Greg Puciato of Dillinger Escape Plan expressed his opinion on how buying t-shirts and other merchandise from an artist does not compensate for illegally downloading their music.
• Kris Roe of The Ataris and Rob Felicetti (ex- Ataris, Patent Pending) each released a response to Roe's violent drum throwing incident.
• Rancid released a 46 7-inch box set of their entire discography equipped with a baseball bat.
• We announced a contest where you can win the latest releases from the current acts on The Fat Tour.
• We sat down with Klaus Flouride of the Dead Kennedys to discuss the current state of the band and to respond to topics that we discussed with Jello Biafra 2 weeks prior.

Q: Is Ben Weasel: 1) Truly oblivious that he is a huge d-bag; 2) quite aware, but is usually playing the part of "Ben Weasel"; and isn't really a d-bag; 3) Aware, but mostly accepting, except for when he breaks down in despair once every two weeks?

A: I really don't know what Ben's "persona versus real life" situation is. I can say, I've spoken to a lot of people who have worked with and run into him and the stories are almost always unpleasant. The problem is that he's just popular enough that he can always surround himself with fans and yes men (if he so chooses). Anytime I've seen this situation it never ends well.
