Beastie Boys set release date for long-awaited new album
Beastie Boys have announced a release date for their long-awaited new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2. The record is due out May 3, 2011 and is the first (non-instrumental) studio album from the band since 2004's To The 5 Boroughs. In the intervening years, they released a instrumental record, The Mix-Up as well as deluxe, remastered reissues Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication and Hello Nasty.
Plans were made to release Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 in 2009 but that release was put on hold indefinitely after Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with cancer. He is in remission now and the group is working on new videos, a documentary and were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
