Boy Sets Fire has posted an update on their website:
[W]e finally got the green light to go ahead and record our upcoming release. We are all very happy that our final demo did what it was supposed to do (getting us in the studio) and now it looks like we'll be starting pre-production right after New Years.[…]As you can imagine we can't wait to go ahead and finally throw these songs down. We have about 25 to 30 songs and will have to decide which ones will end up on the record. They are all very different and unique little bastards and I guess there will be a couple of real surprises on the next CD for you as well as for us. We really tried over the course of the last year to be as open as possible to whatever we felt at the time musically without watering down the essence of this band, but instead finding this essence in different places, which, in my case, was what first drew me to a record like "The Day The Sun Went Out." I think this upcoming release has the potential to be a real emotional roller coaster and I can't wait for you to hear it.
As far as touring goes we plan on touring our asses off and maybe start the cycle around mid-April…
You can check out the full statement here. The last record from the band was 2003's Tomorrow Come Today
