Babyshambles are headed into a studio in Wales to record their debut full length. The band will be working with Clash guitarist Mick Jones and Clash / Sex Pistols producer Bill Price, the same team that produced the last album from frontman Pete Doherty's former band the Libertines.

Perpetually in trouble, Doherty was given permission to go to Wales after re-arranging bail conditions in relation to charges of alleged blackmail and robbery. The band is expected to be in the studio until he has to return to Snaresbrook Crown Court on April 18th to enter his plea. The full length is expected this summer in the UK.

Speaking of the Libertines, frontman Carl Barât recently signed to Mercury Records imprint Vertigo Records. He'll be pursuing a solo career and forming a new backing band that will include former members of the Libertines, whose future has been put on hold as a result.
