Epitaph has announced plans to release Suicide Girls: The First Tour on DVD. The disc will feature performances from their recent cross-country burlesque show which hit 2000+ venues and according to the label "transformed burlesque, injecting the peek-a-boo tradition with a sexy, confident, rock n roll attitude, [and] great music."
The 110-minute film features the show performances as well as interviews with the girls, photo shoots, and behind-the-scenes footage. According to SuicideGirls founder Missy:
The SG Live performances were a huge success and fans across the globe embraced our female empowered spin on burlesque. The DVD is more than tour performances filmed, it's an intimate look at each of the SuicideGirls and the community that made it all possible. We look forward to inspiring legions of more fans.
The DVD will also feature previously unreleased music from Head Automatica, Sparta, Her Space Holiday, The Mooney Suzuki, Probot and 30 other bands who are fans of SuicideGirls. It is expected on August 30th, 2005.
