After years without a new recording, former Smiths frontman Morrissey has announced his second new album in two years. He released You Are the Quarry last year.

Morrissey is currently in the studio with Jeff Salzman (The Killers) working on the album which a publicist described as "the most full-on rock record Morrissey's ever done. It's a balls-to-the-wall rock record, not a slow one like the last one."

The record is nearly completed and tentatively scheduled for release in Spring 2006.
