Thursday, who were among the first handful of bands confirmed for Warped Tour 2006, have posted an update on the progress of recording.
In addition to the Warped Tour, the band will be appearing on select dates on the Taste of Chaos tour. Both tours coincide with the release of their upcoming full length for Island Records. The album will be their first since 2003's War All The Time.
The band had this to say:
So we're back up in Fredonia, starting on the 2nd recording session with Dave Fridmann. The songs are turning out amazing. Yesterday Dave had me recording guitar tracks through a ripped 12" speaker that was laying on the floor, lets just say I was suprised to hear how good it sounded. It's crazy how quickly everything is going this time around. we already will have recorded 10 songs by the end of today…some are in various stages of completion but they all feel really good. We can't wait to let you all hear some of it.
The band will also be performing some low-key shows in the Spring, and a 2nd Holiday show at the Starland Ballroom. The band had a similar performance last year, and featured Converge and Dillinger Escape Plan. This fall, the band will be performing with mewithoutYou and Circle Takes the Square.
