Fat Wreck Chords act The Lawrence Arms has completed recording for their upcoming release, Oh! Calcutta! which is slated for a March 2006 release.

Co-vocalist Brendan Kelly posted this update on the band's website:

We did the last mix last night and it gets mastered tomorrow! Twelve songs(and perhaps a hidden track) in just over half an hour. It's been a long strange trip, and now all we can do is wait for the internet leakage, the inevetable shitstorm, and the endless shittalking to begin. Very exciting.

Anyway, tour with Lagwagon was great. Thanks to everyone who came out for that. Next is a little tour with a band called No Effects. I've never heard of them either, but I hear they're pretty popular and have some songs about food, which is one of the main things that I like to eat…so that's good. Our record is called Oh! Calcutta! and it comes out in early march.

The new album will be the proper followup to 2003's The Greatest Story Ever Told. Producer Matt Allison, responsible for the band's last two full-lengths and the engineering for the recent B-sides compilation Cocktails & Dreams, has once again been rounded up for the recording.
