Hot Hot Heat have an album planned for release later this year. The band has been writing and demoing material in between tour stints with the likes of Weezer, the Foo Fighters, The Redwalls and Diamond Nights. Drummer Paul Hawley says of the songs:
We wrote a song in Spain, we wrote a song in Chicago…and when you write lyrics on the road they tend to be more psychedelic. There's one song that we started at the beginning of this tour and I think we've jammed it every day. It's been played all around the world in many, many different places and I think that's kind of a cool thing.
The band plans to enter the studio this spring with an as-yet-unnamed producer and will release their followup to last year's Elevator sometime later this year.
