The latest update from King Django's Version City studios is reporting that original Upsetters organist Glen Adams has been in working on classic-style reggae and ska instrumentals and vocal work. He's recording over rhythms from the Version City Rockers and Stubborn All-Stars.
In other news Django is nearly finished tracking horns for his second Roots and Culture record. The project, which melds Yiddish and Jamaican musics, is set for release in the summer of this year. It follows up 1998's Triple Crown released debut from the band. Django and Slackers frontman Victor Ruggiero have also been working on mixes of Italian ska-punk band Skavesa. The band recorded the album at Version City in the summer of last year.
