Ohio University's student newspaper is reporting that issues have been resolved in the bomb scare provoked by a seemingly innocuous This Bike is a Pipe Bomb sticker earlier this month.
According to the story:
Ohio University will reimburse graduate student Patrick Hanlin for his 7-year-old bike, likely valued between $800 and $1300, which was dismantled during a March 5 bomb scare spurred by a decal on the bike, Nicolette Dioguardi, associate director of legal affairs, said yesterday.
Hanlin, who came forward as the bike's owner during the incident, was originally charged with inducing panic, but cooler heads prevailed and the charges were later dropped.
At this point, all that is left is determining the replacement value of the bike and Dioguardi said her office will "try to do what is fair."
