The Ramones' official website is reporting that Richard "Beau" Reinhardt, better known as Richie Ramone, will appear at the 2006 Joey Ramone Birthday Bash. Reinhardt joined the band in 1983 for the Subterranean Jungle tour after then-drummer Marky Ramone was fired. Richie went on to play on the records Too Tough to Die, Animal Boy, and Halfway to Sanity, writing four songs for the band ("Humankind," "Somebody Put Something in My Drink," "I'm Not Jesus," and "I Know Better Know").
Further details on the performers appearing at the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash are expected soon. It was announced earlier that the show will take place on May 19th at Irving Plaza in NYC. The date would have been Joey's 55th birthday. Recently Pitchfork revealed that the Strokes would appear with the Dead Boys and Andy Shernoff of the Dictators at the event.
