Joe Strummer will be performing at this year's Tibetan Freedom Concert in London. A full list of performers has not yet been posted, but look to see many more socially active artists on the bill. The Beastie Boys (ya ya… not "punk"… whatever that is) founded the event and will also perform. The concert will be held at Brockwell Park in London on September 15. Like the four previous events, the 2001 Tibetan Freedom Concert will raise money for the (Beastie Boys founded) Milarepa Fund, an international organization dedicated to supporting the Tibetan people's nonviolent struggle to regain their freedom from China, which has occupied the country since 1959.
