The Chicago Blackout 2006 shows will take place at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, IL from May 24th to 27th. The show, hosted by Horizonal Action Magazine, will feature a number of garage punk acts including the Oblivians, Cheater Slicks, the Marked Men, Mind Controls, the King Khan & BBQ Show, Clone Defects, Angry Angles, Demons Claws, the Cuts and many more.

Earlier this year Horizontal Action announced that after eight years of publishing the zine was taking an indefinite break. A compilation compiled by the zine is set for release on Swami Records some time this year featuring many of the band's covered by Horizontal Action since `97.
