With Green Day not in the running this year, other bands were able to pick up some music awards at the latest round of MTV's VMAs.

Big winners included Panic! At the Disco who took home Video of the Year. AFI, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds to Mars, all won awards in their respective categories.

Denied despite three nominations was Tom Delonge's Angels and Airwaves project,
