Union pop/punk/ska band Flashlight has changed their name to Flashlight Brown. There were copyright issues with "Flashlight," a forgotten 70s funk band on the long gone Philly Groove label. Their official site listed their name choices: "I can't emphasize enough how many names we came up with over the past couple of months. Seeing as we really wanted to avoid those idiot number names (Flashlight 182, Flashlight 41) or the equally over done geographical abbreviations (Flashlight TX, Flashlight UK), our options were limited. Believe me, every name stunk. So we picked Flashlight Brown, why not, it kind of rings, right? Flashlight will release their new CD on Union 2112 (part of the Montreal based Union Label Group) on October 25th release. The band will tour do a National tour (thats Canada kids) during October and November.
